I clean the cache using a cron job, and even manually.

In the backend it seems to work, and the script writes that is only one file in the cache catching a few kb which is great.


BUT


when I check the actual files, I still hundred of files in the cache directory!


1. why aren't they deleted?
2. is it safe to delete them manually till the admin will fix it?

the files are in a directory called cache/db
