Search facility

Search facility

Postby littlepaws » Mon Jun 21, 2010 9:41 am

Amazon Blended search does not seem to work correctly still.

Is it possble to either search by selecting nodes (more than one node)

Or the whole of amazon

If so how?

Hi, yes under store configuration -> advanced settings you can change the search "all" behaviour by having it search specific nodes instead of the default blended search.

try adding more by having them seperated by a comma (I have not tested this).

The search facility still not working correctly

if I search for example a dog bowl under ALL

I have categories

dog collars
dog bowls
dog beds

The search shows

dog collars See all (100)
dog bowls See all (100)
dog beds See all (100)

If I click

dog collars See all (100)i get
We did not find any matches for your request.

If i click
dog beds See all (100) i get
We did not find any matches for your request.

However
dog bowls See all (100)
It show the results?

Why is it showing result under all categories and not just dog bowls

I just want the search to find anything related to dog bowls with amazon?

i would like to see the search work like this aswell, instead of showing each category results, like explained above, i would like to see it just show a list of results, i find it frustrating when clicking on the search results and showing we did not find any results for your request when quite clearly there are, think there must be a lot of lost sales because of this too.

If i am not wrong,

Because the SearchIndex is same for 3 nodes. When ANS displays the results,
it displays as:
(your Customized) Nodename See all (corresponding SearchIndex Results count)

dog collars See all (100)
dog bowls See all (100)
dog beds See all (100)

When you click on the 'See All', it makes a call to AWS with (Node and SearchIndex),
if it finds any shows : Search Results
else
We did not find any matches for your request.

What i did for this issue: In the search box, i took out "All" options from the template
