Problem with search

Postby ravikum » Tue May 25, 2010 12:09 pm

Hello,
There is a problem with search.
Same Product is listed in different categories.

http://softwarebest.com/search.php?q=microsoft&sc=All

All the categories are displaying the same number. See all (22157)
Same Product is displayed in all categories.
http://softwarebest.com/p/Microsoft-Win ... etail.html

The search for "microsoft" at amazon.com looks very good :
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... ft&x=0&y=0
Please provide such a search function in your script.

Also, How to make the search urls search engine friendly by making them look something like this format:
mysite.com/search/keyword/categoryID
etc..

Please help.

Thanks.

Hello, are all your categories configured with the same node id?

Search result page urls should not be search engine friendly as you want the search engines to know the page is dynamic. the page will still be indexed even if it is like: http://softwarebest.com/search.php?q=microsoft&sc=All

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.

According to google guidelines, it is better to make the urls static rather than dynamic.

Is there any way to make those urls static like
mysite.com/search/keyword/categoryID
etc..

Thanks.
