New license "... same IP" ... is a no-go

Postby floxxx » Sun Oct 17, 2010 6:30 pm

Hi!

I was testing the last free version of ANS a few months ago and from time to time i visited
the website to see if there is an announcement for a new version, because i wasn't shure if
this script is still a life. I was afraid of buying the script because for some time it looks like
there was no further development and no update to the Amazon API changes.

Now - you came up with this new version and the new license "... same IP" ...

For me this is a "no-go", because every of my sites is on a separate IP.
Your new license term would costs me way to much - if you keep it.

Hey - i realy like your script, much more than AOM, but at the moment i
have to stay at affordable AOM with a much less restrictive license.

Looking forward to a much better solution! Thanx! ;-)

Yes, you are right, too much customers want to use the script on different servers,
so we will try to change license conditions.
Maybe we will make like AOM (customer will have to use same one "Amazon Associate ID" on all their sites, but will be able to install the script on any domain and IP)
We will test it, and If it will work then new version will be with such license.
Best regards

Same "Amazon Associate ID" ? It does not make sense at all.

Who is in the Internet Marketing wants to use same affiliate id for every website?

Affiliates track their performance of their websites by keeping separate Amazon Associate ID
Amazon Associate ID are different for each locale, as they end with -20, -21, -22, -23
No gurantee that you can get the similar id's. Let us you create xyz-20 at US locale and no gurantee that you get xyz-21 EU locale and so on....

Find some better solution.

Hi, please explain,
for each locale you get totally different Associate IDs ?
zzzzzz-20
xxxxxx-20
?

Or different only digits ?

Is it possible to keep for all your sites
same "xxxxxxx-" and only digits will be different ?

ok lets say your id in the us site is isellcrap-20 you may not get say isellcrap-21 for whatever country that is because it may be taken already and the single ass. id is bad because everyone tracks by the site id on amazon to know what each site is truly making.

I strongly suggest you to learn about affiliate program of each amazon (.com, .ca, .de, .co.uk, .fr, .jp, .cn) site. You have to sign up for each site if you want to promote respective locale products. Affiliate id is different for each locale.

Hi!

Using AOM you don't have to use the same "Amazon Associate ID" for all sites!

You get one license file to activate all your AOM installations on different domains and different IPs.
AOM is using a customer number coded into this encrypted license file to call home and check
if this license is still OK and not black-listed.

As far as i know the "only" thing is that all domains have to be owned/registered by the customer.
